About the letters:
These letters are about the perspective of the Civil War Wemon. The story is about two sisters that grew up in the North and were raised with different values then the South, they had respect for the black people and believed they should be treated equaly. A little before the war had begun the oldest sister married a southern man and moved to the south. She was not happy about the way that the blacks were treated in her town, so she would write to her sister about how she felt. Her sister, still living in the north, had gotten involved in the Underground Railroad where people helped slaves escape. The younger sister offered her older sister to join her because the older sister felt so strongly about how the slaves were treated. The older sister joined. They were involved in the Underground Railroad for about a year when her husband was passing through her town and stopped by with the general and then she was discovered. She was incarcerated, she was only inprisioned for a couple weeks when President Lincoln had passed the Emansipation Proclamation, freeing the slaves. Since what she did was no longer illegal she was let free.

Project Reflection:
During the process of this project i had connected a lot to the history, mainly because i had to put myself in my characters shoes. I had to encorperate her everyday life, also what was historicially happening at the time. I not only learned a lot about the Civil War, but i also learned the perspective of women during the time. What i found difficult about this project was making sure everything was historicially accurate while also including fictional events and characters. Luckily i had found a timeline showing me what happened every month of every year of the Civil War. It was very interesting to me when i had to turn history into a narritive story, i found it very interesting because there was a lot of room for creativity. I enjoyed coming up with my own story but also including events that took place during the Civil War. Overall i was very proud of the end result.
